The Greene County Early Learning Center received a grant from the Greene County Community Foundation to upgrade kitchen and classroom food service.
New items purchased for the kitchen were a convection oven, refrigerator, freezer, prep table, commercial mixer, and serving supplies. Classroom upgrade included complete place settings for 116 children.
This upgrade ensures that the Early Learning Center continues to meet National Health and Safety Performance Standards for food service. Additionally, Early Learning Center caregivers have an opportunity to serve as role models to teach young children sound nutritional practices that will have a positive impact on their development and lifestyles as adults.
